- How long does it take to become a qualified welder? For beginners, 12 lessons are required. For intermediate learners, 6 lessons are recommended, or you can choose one by one lessons.
- How do I become a qualified welder in NZ? To become a qualified welder, you need to compete a welding training and get the welding ticket/certificate in particular welding process.
- How often does a qualified welder need to requalify? You must requalify after 3 years.
- What are the NZ standards for welding? The two most common welder qualification standards are primarily AS/NZS 2980 and ISO 9606-1. Both these standards provide welder qualifications for the welding of carbon steel (mild steel), low and high alloy steels.
- How do I get welding certificate? To take the welding test, you need to have some experience in welding. If you are not experienced enough, you can enrol in a training program to learn the skills. The test and the training are both conducted by certified professionals.
- How many certifications are there for welding? There are four main welding certifications based on welding process (stick, mig tig, fcaw). Eight different welding certifications based on welding position (Fillet-1F/2F/3F/4F and Butt-1G/2G/3G/4G).
