ASME IX Welding Test

This test is based on the internationally recognized welding standard, ASME IX, which outlines the requirements for the qualification of welding procedures and welders for welding of metallic materials. The test is available in three options: Stick, MIG, and TIG welding.

The test is conducted by a third-party inspector and is designed to ensure that the welds meet the standards outlined in ASME IX. If the welds pass the test, the welder will receive a certification. If the welds do not pass, the test must be taken again.

The certification process works by having your welders complete one of the standards above using a welding process of their choice, such as MIG, TIG, or ARC. The test for each standard needs to be completed in a specific position, and upon completion, the welder will be qualified for a range of positions. If all positions are needed, two tests will need to be completed, one in a Vertical Up position and the second in an overhead position.
